Find yourself in an environment that borrows certain elements from Japanese legends and folk tales, but remains entirely original. 

You are playing KYO, a young apothecary apprentice that suffered the same curse as its world around him but by his kind and healing actions he will fight the corruption that transforms his body progressively into gold.

The Curse...

Observing mankind's tendency to destroy themselves and their environment due to their various sins of greed, Ara-Mitama decided to spread a curse upon them.

The curse affects all humans simultaneously and gradually transforms them into gold until they are completely frozen. The progression is rapid but can be slowed down by using the curse to help others by redistributing the gold.

In addition to being an obvious reference to the myth of Midas, the transformation into gold becomes the physical representation of their greed.

Kyōs history...

The son of a couple of apothecaries, Kyō was accustomed from an early age to helping others. As an apprentice, he now follows in his parents' footsteps by helping as many people as possible. Gathering medicinal resources to make medicine regularly takes him far from civilization for long periods of time, which has taught him to appreciate nature and the world around him.

At the beginning of the game, our protagonist is gathering medicinal plants in the plains when the curse strikes mankind and he faints. Waking up with his arm now transformed into gold, Kyō does not yet know the implications of this and learns to master his new powers.

Curious to understand the origin of his new power, Kyō decides to go in the direction of the source of the golden storm that befell him. 

During his journey, he comes across a pile of golden statues and realizes the implications of the curse.

However, he does not give in to fate and instead uses his new powers to repair his environment and help the creatures he encounters along the way.

Our character seeks primarily to understand the origin of the curse, to help those who may need it along the way, and to restore the environments destroyed by humans.

GAMEPLAY

Solve puzzles, project magical gold & use your timed skills to progress through this fantastical world.  

Engage with the background to bring life and beauty to a previously empty and lifeless environment.  

Progress through different biomes, to discover what has happened and how you can heal your environment. 

Enjoy an emotional ride by listening to a peaceful, yet tense soundtrack that adapts to each situation in the game.
